Would you pay $103 for a custom-made steampunk game controller? Would you pay more?
A gamer going by the name troxin_kustoms is selling a steampunk-style wireless Xbox 360 controller (pictured at left) on eBay.
The seller says the controller has been sanded and hand-painted to give it that old-timey look. The back-side battery pack has been adorned with a brass skeleton keyhole. But most impressively, the standard analog sticks and buttons have been replaced with keys pulled from a typewriter from the late 1940's.
Of course, the big question is: does it actually work?
"I just logged a few hours of gaming in with this controller to insure the proper function and play ability of this unit," promises troxin_kustoms. "The Joysticks feel great to use and the buttons are a breeze."
As of this writing, the bidding is at $103.49. But there are still two more days left on the auction.
But don't worry, if you get outbid, you can always order this steampunk Xbox 360 controller from Etsy seller Armed & Inspired for $75.
This one doesn't have the old typewriter keys, but Armed & Inspired does give you the option of mailing in one of your own controllers which they will steampunkify for you.
Just think, these could be the perfect controllers for playing the neo-Victorian action role-playing game "Dishonored" with.
