NASA has nothing but love for One Direction after the boy band filmed the video for "Drag Me Down" at the the agency's Johnson Space Center in Houston.
In only 12 hours after its release on Friday, the music video garnered more than 3.3 million views on YouTube.
That is more views in half a day than NASA's most popular video — a look at the majestic, icy plains of Pluto from the New Horizons probe — has ever received total.
With that kind of publicity, it's no wonder that NASA has been showing Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne all kinds of love on social media. (Somewhere, in another dimension, Zayn Malik might have also participated, according to Stephen Hawking).
For the video, members of One Direction got to drive a rover, go inside a replica of the International Space Station, meet Robonaut and move around in NASA's Partial Gravity Simulator. Apparently all of that effort was worth it, Niall noted on Twitter, "coz it turned out sick."
