A man accused of making a “hit list” of 20 elected Democrats from Pennsylvania and making terroristic threats against them was arrested, the Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday.
According to police, Adam G. Berryhill of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, was accused of making violent threats on his X account that included showing a firearm, making statements about shooting and mentioning a “Memorial Day Operation.”
In a criminal complaint exclusively obtained by NBC10, Berryhill is accused of posting at least 10 times on social media with these types of threats.
In one post, Berryhill is accused of writing, “Look how full my hands are. Who are these people? They don’t represent Pennsylvania. They are communist infiltrators. I’ll have write up an operation for each one and file Mandamus with the Commonwealth Court. I’ll approach every legal avenue and when they all fail I start shootings,” according to the criminal complaint obtained by NBC10.
The criminal complaint states that search warrants were issued for two of Berryhill’s X accounts on May 1 and that through the investigation, officials were able to link the threatening posts back to him through emails, phone records and an IP address.
All 20 people targeted have been identified as Democratic members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, including Joanna McClinton, the speaker of the Pennsylvania House, and state Sen. Sharif Street, who is also the chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
Berryhill is now in custody and charged with making terroristic threats, police said.
