California-based Straus Family Creamery is recalling multiple organic ice cream products in pint and quart sizes due to the potential presence of metal fragments, according to a notice published Friday by the Food and Drug Administration.

The company said the affected products were on store shelves beginning May 4 and that only lots identified by certain “best by” dates are included in the recall. No injuries have been reported, the company said.

Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled ice cream and discard the product. The company said customers should not return recalled items to stores.

The FDA’s notice said the recalled organic products were distributed in 17 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The recall includes:

  • Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, pint size, best by Dec. 23, 2026, and Dec. 28, 2026
  • Strawberry Ice Cream, quart size, best by Dec. 24, 2026
  • Strawberry Ice Cream, pint size, best by Dec. 25, 2026
  • Cookie Dough Ice Cream, pint size, best by Dec. 26, 2026
  • Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream, quart size, best by Dec. 27, 2026
  • Mint Chip Ice Cream, pint size, best by Dec. 30, 2026

UPC numbers for the recalled products can be found on the FDA’s website.
