Authorities say a mid-Michigan teen faces six felonies after driving a truck into middle school students, leaving one hospitalized with severe injuries.
Bay County prosecutors say the unidentified teen faces five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of reckless driving causing serious injury. The suspect was released on a $25,000 bond. Police say the John Glenn High School student was driving a GMC pickup truck May 16 when he intentionally drove at a group of younger teens, striking a 14-year-old student who suffered a broken nose and arm, and bruised pelvis.
Sheriff's Lt. James Chlebowski says the driver and the injured pedestrian knew each other and exchanged words before the collision.
The teen driver suffered minor injuries
The Bay City Times says it wasn't immediately known if an arraignment was scheduled.
