Dog Rescued From Abandoned Well

A sweet dog with a vicious name is pulled safely from an abandoned well.

SUITLAND, Md. -- Prince George's County Fire and Rescue units saved a dog from a well Friday afternoon.

Fire and Rescue went to the 3400 block of Glenn Drive in Suitland after receiving a report of a dog that fell into an old well at about 1 p.m. A 13-year-old 20-pound presa canario with a sweet disposition, Kujo had fallen some 30 feet into the abandoned well.

A cave-in team managed to remove the dog from the well safely just after 5 p.m. It rigged a harness to fit the dog and managed to hoist him out.

Kujo suffered an abrasion over one eye and was taken to a veterinarian for treatment but otherwise was fine.

Earlier, there was concern Kujo could drown in the well as the rain made the water rise.
