SarahPAC says problems with contributions resolved

Papers filed with the Federal Elections Commission show former Gov. Sarah Palin's political action committee has resolved problems with excessive contributions to Republicans.

Papers filed with the Federal Elections Commission show former Gov. Sarah Palin's political action committee has resolved problems with excessive contributions to Republicans.

The FEC had found that SarahPAC contributed $5,000 to the campaigns of Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. That's more than double the $2,400 limit allowed per candidate per election in FEC's six-month filing period ending June 30.

SarahPAC filings and treasurer Tim Crawford say the contributions have been redesignated so McCain and Murkowski received $2,400 for the 2010 primary and another $2,400 for the general election.

Each senator has returned the remaining $200 to SarahPAC.

McCain was the Republican presidential nominee last year. Palin was his running mate.
