Beginning Oct. 13, MSNBC will kick off “Hardball: A Battle for the White House” a series of live, hour-long interviews with the Democratic presidential candidates conducted by “Hardball” host Chris Matthews.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT WAS made today by Phil Griffin, vice president of primetime programming for MSNBC. All of the one-on-one forums will telecast from the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, on Mondays at 7-8 p.m. ET on MSNBC. Sen. John Edwards (N.C.) is the first guest in the series of televised interviews on Monday, Oct. 13.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to take a hard, in-depth look at who these candidates are, find out what makes them tick and what they stand for,” Griffin said. “Harvard’s Kennedy School is the perfect outlet in which to showcase both the political prowess and leadership potential of these ten individuals.”

“I can think of no better way to inform and motivate young voters than to give them the opportunity to hear from and question the Presidential candidates themselves in our Forum,” said the Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics Director Dan Glickman, who is also former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

Following is the preliminary schedule of additional candidates to date who will play “Hardball” with Chris Matthews, detailing their candidacy for president and sharing all of the latest developments from the campaign trail.
