A 54-year-old mother of three captured in California last year after more than three decades running from the law will be released from a Michigan prison Tuesday.

Susan LeFevre escaped from a Detroit-area prison in 1976 while serving a sentence for a drug crime.

She got married in California and was raising three children in a posh section of San Diego under the name Marie Walsh when she was captured.

The Michigan Parole Board had said LeFevre could return home May 19 if she behaved. Spokesman Russ Marlan says she has stayed out of trouble.

She had served about 14 months of a 10-year sentence for a drug conviction when she escaped. She told deputies her husband and children knew nothing of her past.
