Usain Bolt captured the Olympic double with a victory in the men’s 200-meter final finishing with a world record time of 19.30 seconds.

The 100-meter champion from Jamaica beat Churandy Martina from the Netherlands Antillies and Shawn Crawford of the United States.

The time topped Michael Johnson's world record of 19.32.

With the win, Bolt becomes the first Olympian since American Carl Lewis in 1984 to win both the 100- and 200-meter gold medals in one Games and the first to win both in world record time.

Wallace Spearman of the United States finished third, but was disqualified for stepping outside of his lane.
