Nearly seven years after Paige Coffey went missing from the Cleveland area, her remains have been found.
The Bratenahl Police Department issued a press release on April 29, stating that remains found on April 17 at a home in Cleveland had been identified as belonging to Paige Coffey.
The remains were discovered in the garage when the home, which had been vacant, was being cleaned out for new ownership, according to the Cleveland Police Department’s Public Information Office. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s records listed the place of death as “in a garbage bag.”
The cause and manner of Paige’s death have not yet been determined, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Dateline featured Paige’s story in its ‘Missing in America’ series in July of 2025. She was last seen on May 7, 2019, in the Steelyard Commons area of Cleveland. Paige’s family last heard from her in late April, and grew concerned when she didn’t reach out for Mother’s Day that year. Trinettea Williamson reported her daughter missing on May 17, 2019.
“You know your child, you know? I know Paige would never, ever just walk away,” Trinettea told Dateline last summer. “You know, she loved her family. We were very close. She wouldn’t do that.”
In July of 2019, Paige’s family reached out to the Cleveland Family Center for Missing Children and Adults, an organization that offers support services to the families of the missing. Dateline spoke to Sylvia Colon, one of the founders. “They’re an amazing family,” she said. “Trinettea just has tons and tons of support, and I think it’s a testament to, you know, who Paige is, right? Paige is missed and she’s loved. And her family supports her mom so that she can hopefully come home.”
In a Facebook post following the identification of Paige’s remains, Cleveland Missing released a statement on behalf of the family. “We are saddened to announce that Paige Coffey’s remains were found,” it read. “Her family has been notified and has asked for privacy during this devastating time. Paige is loved and will be missed. Her family wishes to thank all of you that shared her missing person’s flyer and kept her story in the media.”
The Cleveland Division of the FBI, which has been working alongside the Bratenahl Police Department, issued a statement on Facebook on April 30. “Our hearts go out to her family and friends as they process this news,” it read. “This case is far from over however, and the FBI will continue to work with and support our law enforcement partners to ensure Paige’s killer(s) are identified, found, and brought to justice.”
Anyone with information related to Paige’s case is encouraged to contact the FBI Cleveland Field office at 216-522-1400 or Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7643.
