Tara Baker was in her first year of law school at the University of Georgia. She was a dedicated student, excited to be at her dream school.
On January 18, 2001, after a night of studying in the library with a friend, Tara went back to her home on Fawn Drive on the outskirts of Athens.
The next morning, a call came into the fire department. The house on Fawn Drive was on fire. Firefighters arrived to find smoke filling the living room.
They found a body burned in the bedroom. It was Tara, with an electrical cord wrapped around her neck.
What followed was a family’s 25-year search for answers and justice.
