Keith Morrison reports on the August 2017 death of Nada Huranieh.

It was the morning of August 17, 2017, in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The sun was barely up when 14-year-old Aya Altantawi called 911.

The police responded to the scene quickly. There, at the house, was Aya’s mother, Nada, lying face up on the patio in her pajamas. She wasn’t moving.

Above her, an open window.

Did she jump? Did she fall?

One thing was certain: Aya’s childhood had ended that morning.

The years that followed would be filled with questions, hard choices, and anger. And the answers to those questions were darker than Aya could have ever imagined.

To find out what happened, watch the full episode “The Shadow in the Window” on Peacock now.
